Job summary

Safran S.A. is seeking a Buyer/Planner to coordinate the flow of raw materials, detailed parts and assemblies to support the production build schedule and customer deliveries. You will optimize inventory levels, purchase designated materials, and monitor material availability to prevent shortages and unplanned scrap.

Your role includes capacity planning, Kanban system maintenance, and collaboration with Sales, QA, and Suppliers to ensure timely production and shipping.

Qualifications

• Education - Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Education - Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree in related discipline.
• Experience - Required: One year of manufacturing experience.
• Experience - Preferred: Three plus years material planning/shop scheduling experience.
• Special Knowledge/Skills – Required: Experience with on line ERP manufacturing systems; Microsoft Office Applications—Excel, Word

Responsibilities

• Review customer order requirements and schedule based on material and capacity.
• Analyze and apply capacity planning techniques for the production build schedule.
• Modify and approve system suggested planning messages.
• Set order policies, lot sizes, lead-times for assigned products with manager approval.
• Coordinate Kanban systems to support product lines and supplier communication.
• Develop blanket orders or contracts and coordinate implementation.
• Release production orders and generate status reports.
• Investigate discrepancies regarding material, capacity and due dates.
• Communicate changes to customers and sales teams.
