Job summary

Doncasters in Springfield, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced Buyer/Production Planner to coordinate purchasing, material availability, inventory and production requirements for the Springfield operation.

You will develop and maintain production schedules, manage work-order priorities, and work closely with Operations to ensure customer demand, material availability, capacity, and delivery commitments are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, production planning, materials planning, supply chain, or a related role within manufacturing.
• Experience developing and managing production schedules and work-order priorities.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, purchase orders, inventory, and material planning.
• Experience managing supplier delivery commitments and expediting materials when necessary.
• Ability to balance customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and delivery requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve shortages, discrepancies, scheduling conflicts, and bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, material availability, inventory, and production requirements for the Springfield operation.
• Develop and maintain production schedules, manage work-order priorities, and coordinate with Operations.
• Ensure customer demand, material availability, capacity, and delivery requirements are aligned.
• Manage purchasing activities including purchase orders, supplier communication, and expediting materials.
• Monitor inventory using ERP/MRP systems and address shortages or discrepancies before impacting production.
• Collaborate across Operations, Quality, Finance, Commercial, and other functions; support front-office duties as needed.
