Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Buyer & Materials Planner in Indiana to ensure timely planning and availability of materials for production and demand. You will analyze sales data, forecast requirements, monitor inventory, and coordinate with suppliers to optimize stock levels and supply continuity.

Collaborate with NPD, Inside Sales, and operations to align material availability with manufacturing schedules, while leveraging ERP/MRP tools and Excel for accurate forecasting and decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, or supply chain within manufacturing required
• Strong analytical skills with data and forecast interpretation
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel – NetStock experience is a plus
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Plan material requirements, order quantities, and timing based on sales data and forecasts
• Monitor inventory and identify replenishment needs
• Track product movement from suppliers to ensure supply continuity
• Support production and warehouse teams with inventory flow
• Improve inventory control processes and systems
