This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, analytical professional who enjoys solving problems, coordinating across departments, and helping production run efficiently in a fast-paced growth environment.

The Production Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for aligning customer demand, inventory, raw material availability, production capacity, and labor requirements to ensure products are manufactured on time, at the right quality level, and as cost-effectively as possible.

This company is growing quickly, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift, problems need to be solved independently, and everyone is willing to step outside of their job description when needed.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, inventory requirements, raw material availability, and plant capacity
  • Conduct longer-term capacity planning and identify potential production risks or bottlenecks
  • Partner closely with Production Managers and Team Leaders to evaluate capacity, shared resources, labor requirements, and production priorities
  • Provide production plans and forecasts to support accurate and timely raw material purchasing
  • Coordinate with Quality to help expedite job closures, incoming material inspections, and non-conformance resolution
  • Prepare inventory and production updates for weekly production meetings
  • Analyze operational metrics and prepare status and performance reports
  • Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials required to meet production demand
  • Monitor production progress to help ensure jobs are completed on time and within budget
  • Maintain subassembly planning and Material Requirements Planning processes
  • Track production output, including finished goods and defect rates
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and supply chain operations
  • Serve as a key liaison between Sales, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments
  • Help optimize the smooth and cost-efficient flow of plant operations
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Business, Science, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing experience
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with data
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across production and business functions
  • Ability to identify better ways of completing work and improving processes
  • Comfortable taking initiative and assuming additional responsibilities in a growing organization
Preferred experience:
  • Food manufacturing or CPG experience
  • Understanding of production planning and quality-control principles
  • Experience with MRP or MRP II systems
  • Experience with ERP platforms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks

The right person for this role will be highly organized, results-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working directly with plant leadership to solve real-time production challenges.
