Murray Resources - Best Staffing Agency is seeking a Production Planner for a growing manufacturing organization in Houston. This role focuses on production scheduling, capacity planning at the cell level, and coordinating with Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery.

You will leverage MRP systems, review sales orders, prepare work orders, and optimize resources to meet production specs, while communicating with Sales and Customer Service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in materials planning, scheduling or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt messaging across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • CPIM certification is a plus.

Our client, a growing organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Production Planner to join their team. This role provides an opportunity for someone to contribute to production scheduling and operations in a collaborative environment. The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating manufacturing activities, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan capacity on cell level.
  • Optimize Schedule to ensure orders meet expected delivery date.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain.
  • Keep Sales and Customer Service updated on orders.
  • Ensure correct data in ERP system.
  • Manufacturing/Service Production Scheduling work focuses on scheduling production, processing, assembly, and packaging activities including:
  • Selecting and sequencing available resources and required processing to individual work centers or lines
  • Implementing scheduling changes due to backlogs, design changes, machine downtime or material/labor shortages
  • Responsible for reviewing the sales orders, ensuring the availability of materials for manufacturing/service to commence production, and coordinating production schedules.
  • Develop and implement production plans to maximize the use of the organization’s resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.
  • Use engineering plans, contracts, and production specifications to produce schedules and production plans and estimate the human resources, tools, and equipment needed to manufacture products.
  • Monitor production/service activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed to meet production requirements.
  • Prepare work orders for production/service or purchase requests based on production/service schedules.
  • Evaluate production/service specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.
Requirements:
  • One to four years of experience in materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred
  • Experience with MRP systems
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or six sigma practices is a plus
  • CPIM certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to adapt messaging across departments
  • Capable of responding swiftly and effectively to changing production requirements
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Given the job’s involvement with sensitive and/or classified U.S. military information, consistent with federal regulation and government contract requirements, this position requires the employee to hold either US Citizenship or US National status.
