Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Plans and organizes all production and purchasing activities related to control, scheduling, receipt, and distribution of materials and parts within a specific product line.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Plans, develops, and implements production control milestones and priorities.
• Requisitions and analyzes each item for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinates activities from purchasing and manufacturing departments.
• Organizes all production activities related to control, scheduling, receipt, and distribution of materials and parts.
• Keeps management informed of departmental progress and problems.
• Responsible for routing and expediting the movement of parts, end items, supplies, and materials within production and repair departments to meet customer ship dates.
• Typically reports to Production Planning Supervisor.
• Works with manufacturing staff to plan production schedule.
• Minimal supervision, with wide latitude for independent judgment.
• Establishes effective communication between purchasing, production assembly, test, quality control, machine shop, repair department, and engineering in order to achieve goals and plans.
• Implements ECN or customer change orders.
• May coordinate local activities or purchases with vendors for secondary or outside processes.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from a technical high school and/or college

EXPERIENCE:

• Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in RF microwave purchasing, planning, & production control.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of microwave materials, assembly, and test processes
• Detail knowledge of Visual ERP system and Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic machining and QC inspection knowledge.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to juggle production orders based on vendor or customer demands.

• Visual ERP/MRP system related to Material and Production Control
• How to read mechanical drawings
• Understanding of BOM’s.
• Understanding Flow of Materials – on going.
• Understanding of Outside Processes – on going.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting up to 80lbs, desk work approx. 50%, standing approx. 25% and expedite and moving internally approx.25%.
