Job summary

Grayhill, Inc. is seeking a Master Scheduler to plan and schedule manufacturing orders, ensuring on-time delivery for customer orders and stock planning. You will coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Shipping, and Quality to align on lead times and optimize production flow.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule master production order sequences to meet shipping dates.
• Prioritize and schedule manufacturing orders.
• Act as liaison between Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Shipping, Quality Control and Manufacturing regarding delivery information.
• Analyze workloads to determine staffing needs and advise management.
• Coordinate department workflows to match lead times and inventory objectives.
• Review and adjust schedules to optimize throughput and reduce WIP.
• Expedite delayed operations and adapt plans to unforeseen conditions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to maintain safety stock levels and procurement timing.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and KPIs.

Summary

Plan and schedule manufacturing orders through the Manufacturing Department to meet customer and stocking requirements, to control replenishment orders for finished products, sub-assemblies, recommend changes to product structure to facilitate proper product flow and communicate with internal customers to share information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts, scheduling agreements or customer orders.
• Prioritize, initiate, process, and schedule orders for the manufacture of customer orders.
• Act as a liaison between Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Shipping, Quality Control and Manufacturing with respect to fluctuating delivery information.
• Analyze current and future workloads to determine necessary staffing levels and advise Manager.
• Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing lead times.
• Update Purchasing in accordance with changes in demand and current inventory control objectives.
• Review MRP output and recommend changes to schedules, staffing, systems, processes to improve overall production efficiencies.
• Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Work with production to maximize output and customer service by establishing priorities.
• Monitor past dues and ensure they are being minimized.
• Monitor customer orders and make necessary changes to the system to meet customers request date.
• Alert Purchasing teams of any piece part shortages for short-term planned orders and long-term planning needs
• Establish acknowledgement or re-acknowledgement dates for shipping customer sales orders.
• Ensure every effort is made to meet our customers' request dates.
• Monitor changes in customer order dates and update all internal teams as appropriate.
• Recommend changes required to improve our cycle time or reduce our WIP.
• Assist in testing new procedures, upgrades or custom scheduling software and give feedback to Manager.
• Work with Purchasing team to minimize piece part and WIP inventory.
• Work with Purchasing and Sales group to understand safety stock, requirements and assure the appropriate levels are maintained.
• Recommend changes that may be required to improve use of the Grayhill scheduling system.
• Coordinate the rework or replacement of all returned material on CCAs.
• Actively participate in improvement meetings; identify areas to be improved for quality, throughput, inventory, or operating expenses.
• Create and maintain reports as required.

Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
• Three years related experience and/or training
