Description

Position Overview: The role of this position is to ensure on-time delivery of the product by coordinating the activities of Production, Engineering, and Purchasing toward the common goal of on-time product delivery. The Production Planner will verify that all needed information and materials are available prior to releasing the order for manufacturing. They will also assist the Production Manager and Superintendent in process improvement, waste elimination, and enhancing on-time deliverables.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Review and verify drawings and material availability prior to release for manufacture.
  2. Coordinate closely with the Scheduler on internal, customer, and vendor schedules.
  3. Stage and complete materials prior to job release.
  4. Coordinate between Production, Engineering, and Purchasing.
  5. Track and report progress to schedule.
  6. Assist shop foreman with shortages and material needs.
  7. Plan and assist with shop and material scheduling.
  8. Perform in-house expediting as needed to maintain schedule deliverables.
  9. Requisition materials as needed.
  10. Perform other tasks as assigned by TAS.
Job Skills
  • Experience with JIT, MRP, CRP, Lean, ISO 9000, or other quality management systems is desired.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of data collection systems and proficiency in data analysis.
  • Proficiency with PC applications (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience working in a network environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with superiors, peers, and external contacts.

Education & Training
  • A four-year technical degree or six years of equivalent work experience.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a similar position within the industry.
Preferred Requirements
  • APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Experience with Info LN is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The position involves predominantly desk work (80-95%) with computer use. Physical exertion may include lifting up to 10 pounds, and activities such as sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Visual requirements include color and depth perception necessary for data analysis and operating a computer. The environment is primarily indoor.
