the Production Planner/Scheduler will organize production according to customer demand. The goal of the Production Planner/Scheduler is to ensure that product is scheduled and produced on time per the customer acknowledged date and to help communicate with the customer. To be successful in this role, you should be a self-motivated, reliable team player who communicates effectively and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a positive, cooperative attitude and the ability to plan and execute tasks across teams while developing in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.Responsibilities:- Plan/Schedule customer orders by reviewing the demand against available capacity on constraint work centers.
- Prepare short-term and long-term capacity plans identifying resource needs and scheduling adjustments to optimize equipment utilization and attain customer promise dates. Participate in monthly SIOP process to ensure appropriate resource planning including operator, machine, materials, tooling and fixtures.
- Responsible for order execution and on-time delivery performance for customer orders
- Works closely with key customers as the single contact point on any expediting, pushout, or capacity requests
- Based on production status and capacity constraints, provide open order updates and delivery performance to key customers weekly
- Analyze root cause of potential critical misses on delivery and proactively work on remediation plans by collaborating with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, etc)
- Monitor production to ensure timely release of work orders to meet the service obligations as well as ensure jobs are progressing on time through the various processes, both internal and external.
- Coordinates monthly customer forecasting process for site, to support capacity planning, production planning, and material planning activities
- Improve visibility and monitor schedule execution on any overdue jobs, engineering holds, or other quality issues for key customers.
- Develop/populate daily/weekly dashboard to assess the healthiness of production and schedule attainment for key customers.
- Support production Schedulers to establish daily/weekly production plans
Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree required (Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related discipline).
- 3-5 years production planning / manufacturing experience, including medical device manufacturing, Orthopedics preferably
- Technical certifications such as APICS Certification preferred
- Scheduling software experience is a must. Lynq preferable
- Possess excellent communication skills and interacts in a professional courteous manner with all co-workers
