Buyer and Production Planner – Wind Tunnel

Join the Audi F1 Project - Shape the Future of Motorsport!

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis development and race operations. We seek individuals with the mindset of an athlete—resilient, determined, and ready to overcome limits—to bring Vorsprung durch Technik to Formula 1. Join us and make motorsport history. This position is based at Sauber in Hinwil, Switzerland.

Your mission

1. Coordinate with design, prototype workshop, and project management regarding requirements and timelines.
2. Manage internal capacity, machine utilization, and scheduling within production.
3. Make or buy decisions to optimize manufacturing processes.
4. Ensure external supply needs are met through existing suppliers.
5. Negotiate and procure prototype parts from external suppliers.
6. Process orders, track schedules, and escalate bottlenecks as needed.
7. Align quality requirements with relevant departments.
8. Coordinate with goods receiving, quality control, and accounting.
9. Manage rework processes for externally manufactured parts.

Your profile

1. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Technical Business Administration, or Mechanical Engineering with a manufacturing focus.
2. Several years of experience in operational purchasing, technical procurement, or production planning in an industrial setting.
3. Deep knowledge of make-or-buy processes, supplier communication, and scheduling.
4. Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle.
5. Technical understanding of drawings, manufacturing processes, and procedures.
6. Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes is a plus.
7. Strong negotiation skills and organizational talent for cross-functional roles.
8. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with production, purchasing, and design teams.
9. Fluent in German and English.
