Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Maintenance & Equipment associate in our Manufacturing department to operate production equipment and troubleshoot problems across assigned lines. You will coordinate breaks, maintain GMP-compliant work areas, and lead teams to meet the production schedule while cross-training staff and ensuring safety and quality guidelines are followed.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, ability to work various shifts including nights and weekends, and strong attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have basic mechanical skills.
• Must possess general knowledge of machine operation.
• Must be able to use creative thinking for troubleshooting.
• Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs.
• Must demonstrate safe working habits.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have good human relations skills (team player).
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas.
• Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operating production equipment.
• Troubleshooting product and process problems on all assigned equipment.
• Coordinating all breaks and lunches for associates working in the assigned production areas.
• Maintaining a clean work area in accordance with GMPs.
• Leading associates to meet the production schedule.
• Cross-training all production associates.
• Encouraging production associates to adhere to all safety and quality guidelines and practices.
• Completing all necessary paperwork required by the position.
• Other duties as assigned.
