Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) offers a hands-on manufacturing role focused on operating and setting up shop equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and data entry. You’ll work with furnaces, straighteners, saws and shot blast, and use overhead cranes to move material across the production floor.

You will follow work orders, maintain a clean work area, and perform measurements and hardness tests as needed, while supporting continuous improvement and on-time product delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to set up and operate shop equipment to ensure a conforming product.
• Experience with furnaces, straighteners, saws and shot blast is a plus.
• Proficiency in taking measurements with tape measures/calipers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders and work instructions to set-up and operate equipment
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Perform transactions and data entry at computer workstations
• Safely operate material handling equipment to transport and position material for processing This can include bridge cranes, jib cranes and forklifts
• Unloading and loading of trucks and/or railcars with overhead cranes
