Job summary

CMC is hiring in Texas for a fabrication operator. You will learn equipment, load/unload stock, maintain clean work areas, and participate in safety programs while operating various fabrication machines. The role offers training, overtime opportunities, and potential for advancement in a Fortune 500 company.

Applicants should be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift 50 pounds, and read technical manuals; prior heavy industrial experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions (heat/cold).
• Able and willing to cross train as required.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations.
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits.
• Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and root-cause analysis.
• Operate fabrication machines safely without supervision.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must lift 50 pounds and climb ladders/steps; work outdoors when required.
• Able to read technical documents and service manuals.
• Knowledge of commonly used industrial concepts and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum 1 year in a heavy industrial environment preferred.
• Must be punctual and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
• Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
• Crosstrain on multiple machines.
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.
