Job summary

Rust-Oleum is seeking a full-time machine operator to support packaging and filling operations on the evening shift. You will review job orders, set equipment parameters, monitor performance, and help maintain quality across the line.

The role offers $21/hour plus a $0.75/hour second shift premium, opportunities for bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package after 30 days, including health, dental, life and 401(k). In-person work with a 4:00 PM–2:30 AM schedule.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Review job orders to determine quantities, production times, BOMs, and SKU sequences.
• Set and adjust speed, temperature, product flow, positions and tolerances of equipment.
• Operate equipment at most efficient speed to ensure proper quality and output.
• Monitor filling equipment to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
• Stop machines when malfunctions occur, clear jams, and report unresolved malfunctions to a machine operator, lead, maintenance, and then management.
• Change over or adjust equipment to improve performance and quality, using knobs, hand wheels, and/or hand tools.
• Inspect and examine products for quality, packaging accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
• Secure finished packaged items by gluing, stapling, wrapping, taping, or attaching fastener.
• Load and unload materials, product, or packaging from machines, containers, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) per requirements.
• May require recording information such as weight, count, time, scrap and date packaged.
• Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels to ensure all shifts requirements are met.
• Responsibility for the equipment performance, efficient changeovers, operation, and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure accurate counts of labels used and scrapped; and ensure appropriate inventory transactions are completed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
