Production Operator (Night Shift) – 2
Join Niagara as a Production Operator on the night shift, responsible for day‑to‑day operations of the production lines.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the production line, including starting and stopping equipment such as palletizers, carton makers, carton sealers, drop packers, injection lines, and other applicable machinery.
- Perform minor adjustments to production equipment as directed, but no mechanical work without prior approval.
- Accurately complete and update information forms and logs (Machine Report, Quality Report, Downtime Report, Carton Top Load Report).
- Recognize unsafe conditions, follow plant safety rules, and use personal protective equipment when required.
- Maintain housekeeping in all production areas, including break rooms and rest rooms; bale plastic and cardboard, clean and grind bottles as needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies of raw materials (bottle caps, labels, cartons, trays, pallet wraps, pallet glue, slip sheets, etc.) for continuous operation.
- Maintain quality requirements by accurately filling out hourly inspection sheets and reporting all quality defects immediately.
- Work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision and perform relief duties as required.
- Troubleshoot minor production equipment issues and collaborate with the maintenance team.
- Use computer systems such as Oracle/MES or current order management systems to track production data.
- Understand line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput.
- Communicate issues clearly and concisely to supervisors and team members.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work 12‑hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2years of experience in a production position.
- 0years of experience managing people or projects.
- Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines (combination of work experience and education accepted).
- Preferred: 4years of field experience and 4years of production experience.
- Preferred: 2years of managing people or projects.
- LosAngeles County applicants only.
Education & Certifications
- Minimum required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree.
- Certification/License: None required.
