Job summary

CraftMark Bakery in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Wire Cut Operator for full‑time shifts. You will operate automated production equipment, perform preliminary diagnostics, and assist with preventive maintenance and sanitation.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related food production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate bakery production equipment following Safe Operating guidelines.
• Ensure machinery is set up and running properly.
• Input required data into the ERP system.
• Monitor machine and process to prevent downtime and ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and report problems to maintenance.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and follow GMP procedures.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $20.00 Hourly

The Wire Cut Operator is capable of contributing to the production process including the operation of the automated production equipment in the area, preliminary diagnosis/identification of equipment issues, aiding with preventive maintenance and sanitation of the equipment.

Operators are expected to be competent to make production decisions concerning the pre-flight and operation of equipment. Operators must be flexible to rotate job assignments throughout production.

Primary activities include but not limited to:

• Operate within the Safe Operating guidelines of the bakery
• Ensure that machinery is set up and running properly
• Comply with all safety policies, procedures and good work practices
• Input required data into the ERP system
• Monitor machine and process to ensure it is working correctly; avoid stopping the line
• Inspect and spot check product as it moves through the process
• Maintain up to date knowledge of machinery in assigned work area
• Troubleshoot if the machine malfunctions or product does not meet specifications
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor and/or maintenance
• Maintain Quality Standards, consult with QA if there is a problem
• Comply with GMP's at all times
• Follow safety policies, report safety issues
• Keep work area clean and without debris
• Problem solve downtime issues and develop corrective actions
• Participates in audits where assigned (Safety, GMP, 5S, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School or GED
• Proficient in reading and speaking English
• Demonstrated performance in multiple operational roles such as: palletizer, mix, sheeting, wire cut, break relief, horizontal or vertical bagger, oven or cutter
• 2 years related food production experience, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be knowledgeable and follow all personal safety and food safety policies
• Must be proficient in reading and speaking English
• Possess basic math skills
• Capable of working on a computer and navigating through multiple screens
• Experience operating PLC controlled equipment is desired
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand a minimum of 8 hours to a maximum of 12 hours on a daily basis

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
