Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a skilled Production Operator III Lead to oversee efficient manufacturing operations and uphold quality and safety standards. You will train Operators I and II, participate in Kaizen events, and help drive continuous improvement across the production floor.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, 3 years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency with ERP systems like Oracle.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge in an ERP system like Oracle.
• Highly analytical with strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex faults and downtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple areas and train Production Operator I & II and transfers.
• Participate in Kaizen events, problem-solving teams and improvement projects.
• Ensure data collection is accurate and complete.
• Communicate with Planning, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supervision.
• Respond to machine errors and resolve issues, perform advanced functions with specialized equipment.
• Assign team members and move workflow to productive areas during downtime.
• Drive 5S and workplace organization improvements.
• Solve complex quality issues and contain product within department.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

What Will You Bring:

• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Highly analytical with strong troubleshooting skills, capable of diagnosing and correcting complex faults and downtime; Ability to efficiently work in a high paced environment
