Job summary

TE Connectivity in Fuquay-Varina, NC seeks a high-skilled machine operator to set up and run extruders, ensuring quality and safety across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include cleaning between color changes, maintaining equipment, and documenting production activities.

You will train on the Day shift and transition to the 3rd shift (Sun-Thu, 10pm–6:30am). Collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance and Quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Understand and follow batch instructions and SOPs.
• Experience with mixers, scales or compounding equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate measurement.
• Team player who can work independently in production.

Job Overview

Sets up and operates machines and tools to perform various manufacturing operations and maintains them to adhere to quality standards.

This position is considered high skilled precision machine operator position.

This position will train on 1st (Day) Shift then transition to 3rd Shift - Sunday to Thursday from 10pm to 6:30am.

Job Requirements

• Regular use of extruders running at elevated temperatures to melt the chemicals used. Much of the work involves cleaning of all processing equipment between the different colors of chemical types (Change Over).
• When cleaning, heavy scraping, wiping, and use of pneumatic tools with wire wheels is required.
• Document all production activities as required (Autonomous Maintenance, WIP tracking, OEE, etc.)
• Adhere to all safety policies, including PPE requirements and handling regulations for chemicals or pharmaceutical ingredients.
• Help maintain inventory of raw materials and production supplies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, TEOA, and others to ensure product consistency and compliance.

What Your Background Should Look Like

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to understand and follow written batch instructions and SOPs.
• Some experience using mixers, scales, and other compounding equipment a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accurate measurement skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a production environment.
• Forklift or pallet jack experience a plus

Compensation

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $26.00/Hour to $30.00/Hour + 13% Shift Differential for working 3rd shift. (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
