Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Drill Press Operator to set up and operate drill presses and related shop equipment in a manual machining environment. You will ensure components meet specifications through careful setup, measurement, and inspection.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Overview

The Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating drill presses and other shop equipment to manufacture high-quality components that meet established specifications and production requirements. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements
  • Set up and operate drill presses, grinders, belt sanders, and other production machinery to perform a variety of machining and manufacturing operations.
  • Load, position, and remove materials and finished parts during production processes.
  • Install, adjust, and maintain machine safety devices and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Perform production work according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify product quality and compliance with dimensional requirements.
  • Obtain, transport, and return materials, tools, and equipment as needed throughout the facility.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and coordinate replenishment or replacement when required.
  • Perform diversified assembly operations using hand and power tools while maintaining close tolerances.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment through work sharing, problem solving, and cross-training activities.
  • Train and support other employees as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong basic mathematics skills.
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment and machinery in a production environment.
  • Ability to work accurately with close tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
ITAR Requirement

This position may involve access to export-controlled information and technology subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be authorized to access information controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations. Eligibility requirements will be reviewed as part of the hiring process.

Technical Skills
  • Completion of ESD training per OP 1707 or ability to obtain training after hire.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including:
    • Steel rule (6" scale)
    • Combination square
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Depth micrometers
    • Feeler gauges
    • Height gauges
  • Familiarity with major, minor, and miscellaneous machine operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $43,472 – $45,427 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
