Qualifications

  • 1 year of SMT experience preferred with soldering skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and circuit diagrams essential.
  • Experience with various hand soldering techniques is a plus.

Job description

The Electronic Production Operator processes the day-to-day operation of the automated assembly line. They are responsible for following production schedules and operations procedures by relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works under direct supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor machines per established guidelines in a fast-paced electronics assembly environment.
  • Hand-place components when required.
  • Perform basic machine activities on automated machines as instructed by the work order.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Utilizes a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory management system

Laser Marking:

  • Review daily work order.
  • Pull PCB boards as required by the work order and place them in the pre-area.
  • Scan work orders into the automated machine and place PCB in the machine for processing.
  • Perform quality check on 1st PCB to ensure standard.
  • Stock vertical storage following FIFO principles.

THT Preparation and Storage:

  • Pull components based on work order and place them in the bin for storage.
  • Use the cutting machine for various components.

THT Assembly and Soldering:

  • Assemble components on PCB per BOM and sample.
  • Place assembled PCB in a magazine.
  • Transport the full magazine to the selective soldering machine.
  • Operation of the selective soldering machine per work order.
  • Perform quality check on 1st PCB to ensure standard.

Rework:

  • Find and decipher errors detected by off-line AOI.
  • Perform hand solder touch-up of PCBAs under a microscope.
  • Repack PCBA and place finished goods in the designated area.
  • Operate the machine, which includes understanding the sequence of events, the control panel, and indicators, and understanding how to replenish supplies and components per standards.
  • Set-up of the machine, which includes machine adjustments and the ability to perform set-up (feeder loading and changing) per the manufacturing instructions and standards.
  • Follow procedure to account for 'scrap' and non-conformances within MRP.
  • General machine cleaning and upkeep per the standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year SMT experience preferred.
  • Soldering to J-STD-001 experience is a plus
  • Experience running SMT machines a plus and in handling SMT components
  • Mechanically minded
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with metric systems
  • Experience with various hand soldering techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to read schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to see close vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
  • Willing to travel to Europe for training.
