Job Title: Extrusion Production Operator

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department: Production

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Schedule: 1st Shift (6:45A - 3:15P), 2nd Shift (2:45P - 11:15P), 3rd Shift (10:45P - 7:15A)

Basic Job Functions:

• Operate extrusion equipment, spot check product for quality using measurement tools, package product for shipping, and complete required paperwork to keep production running efficiently.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Ability to use hand tools and operate powered tools and production equipment.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs for tasks like mixing and refilling hoppers.
• Proficiency with measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, etc.
• Ability to read and understand production documents and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to maintain production reports and records.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate extrusion process equipment.
• Use hand and power tools, machinery, drills, saws, punches, etc.
• Follow quality and manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
• Set up and adjust production equipment as needed.
• Mix raw plastic stock and pigments, load into extruder.
• Perform self-inspections and maintain records.
• Determine production needs from orders and specifications.
• Package, label, and transfer finished products.
• Assist in training new hires and transferred personnel.
• Transport stock and finished products manually or with equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:

• This position does not have direct reports.

Estimated Salary Range:

• $18.80/hr

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 55 lbs, grasp, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, and wear PPE as required.
