Job summary

Deluxe Corporation is seeking a press operator to run sheet fed, digital presses, bindery and related equipment in our Lenexa, KS facility. The role focuses on producing high‑quality orders by adhering to standard operating procedures and maintaining equipment and ink balance.

Responsibilities include setup, color matching, and ensuring accuracy while working in a collaborative team environment. The role may require routine maintenance and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• HS/GED with 1 year printing experience with similar equipment
• Basic math, reading and computer skills
• Familiar with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage

Responsibilities

• Operate sheet fed, digital presses, bindery equipment and related processing equipment to produce orders
• Follow standard operating procedures and ensure quality of orders while working in a team
• Set up press including loading stock, ink balance, color matching and required attributes
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and perform routine maintenance and cleaning
• Understand press controls and operate within job requirements and tolerances

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50 hourly.

This position will be eligible for an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

Responsible for running various equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and shipping a quality product to the customer. Tasks will include running sheet fed, digital presses, bindery equipment, other processing equipment, and shipping/packing. Associates are responsible for following standard operating procedures and processes to ensure quality of the orders produced, while working in a team environment to achieve daily goals. Runs mostly standard work and basic manual numbering may be required. Automated or basic setups and changeovers may be required. Performs set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, mounting plates, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water levels, assuring accurate single-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, thermo unit, etc. Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations. Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, wash up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure a quality product to customer as required. Understand all press controls and demonstrate their use.
