Job summary

Nesco Resource is seeking a full-time manufacturing associate to operate equipment and assemble automotive body panels in a regulated, fast-paced environment. You will monitor quality, document production data, and participate in lean initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and weekend overtime may be required to meet demand. Training and benefits are provided by Nesco Resource.

Job description

Core duties and responsibilities
  • Assembly and machine operation: Operate various manufacturing equipment, which may include welders, presses, and material conveyors, to assemble automotive body panels and sub-assemblies.
  • Quality control: Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications. Communicate any abnormal or defective materials to a team leader.
  • Data and documentation: Complete all necessary reporting, such as production logs and quality checks, often using computer-based systems.
  • Continuous improvement: Suggest changes to equipment or processes to improve efficiency and quality. Contribute to lean manufacturing activities.
  • Maintenance and upkeep: Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly. Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on machines as needed.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude: The ability to learn and operate machinery, including hand and power tools.
  • Teamwork and communication: Must be able to work and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Attention to detail: Excellent attention to detail is necessary to spot flaws in parts and ensure accuracy in assembly and documentation.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and use analytical skills to help solve technical problems.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically required.
Work environment and physical demands
  • Physical requirements: The job requires repetitive tasks, including standing for long periods, using hands and fingers to operate controls, and occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
