Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to work on rotation shifts in the United Kingdom. The role involves assisting with manufacturing of dyes, intermediates and cosmetic ingredients, operating processing plants and related equipment, and maintaining clean work areas.

Ideal candidates have GCSEs in Maths/English and strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• GCSEs Maths, English, literacy and numeracy are needed.
• Desirable: experience in a chemical or chemical processing environment.
• Demonstrates professionalism with a can-do attitude.
• Very good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the manufacture and processing of Arianor Dyes, Intermediates, Cosmetic Products, Lakes and Azo Dyes.
• Operate processing plants and equipment including presses, reaction vessels, ovens, guedo’s, program setting, moisture checking, de-traying, kibblers, mills and blenders.
• Operate mechanical handling devices.
• Assist in movement of materials.
• Clean the working areas and equipment.

Job description

As a key member of the Sensient team, you will be working on rotation shifts: 1 week on day shift (44 hrs Monday-Thursday) followed by 1 week on night shift (36 hrs Monday- Wednesday).

What you’ll do:

• Assist in the manufacture and processing of Arianor Dyes, Intermediates, Cosmetic Products, Lakes and Azo Dyes
• Operate processing plants, which may include the following: presses, reaction vessels, ovens, guedo’s, program setting, moisture checking, de-traying, kibblers, mills and blenders
• Operate mechanical handling devices
• Assist in the movement of materials
• Clean the working areas and equipment

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum GCSE’s Maths, English, General literacy and numeracy
• Previous work experience in a chemical or chemical processing environment is desirable
• You demonstrate professionalism with a can-do attitude
• You have very good communication skills
• Exceptional time management, mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills help you to be successful in this role
