Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) seeks an on-site manufacturing team member to support fabrication, loading, and upkeep of rebar operations. You will operate equipment, follow procedures, and work across shifts to meet production goals while upholding safety standards in a dynamic industrial environment.

Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work in varying weather, possess a strong work ethic, and demonstrate the ability to read technical manuals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Willing to cross-train as required.
• Follow safety policies, rules and regulations.
• Strong work ethic and practice safe working habits.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail.
• Operate fabrication machines safely without supervision.
• Overtime may be required for business needs.
• Able to lift 50 pounds; climb ladders and steps.
• Read technical documents and service manuals.
• Basic knowledge of industrial concepts and procedures.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• 1 year in heavy industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock materials.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
• Operate production machines per established procedures.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment (shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, welders, etc.)

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
• Able and willing to cross train as required
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
