Job summary

Commercial Metals Company seeks a production/fabrication operator in Dallas, TX to run fabrication equipment, load/unload stock, and uphold a safe work environment. You will contribute to efficient production while following established procedures and safety rules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside in all weather.
  • Read technical documents and follow safety policies (OSHA/EPA).
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork required.
  • 1 year in a heavy industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stockMaterial from trailers.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
  • Operate production machines per established procedures.
  • Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

What You'll Do

  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.
What You'll Need
  • Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
  • Able and willing to cross train as required
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
  • Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
  • Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
  • Able to work overtime as business requires
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
  • Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
  • Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
  • Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
  • Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
  • Stand for long periods of time
