Job summary

Commercial Metals in Knoxville is seeking a production associate to support fabrication operations. You may spend time in an office-like setting or on the shop floor operating equipment and assisting with loading and unloading materials. Training is provided, and you will work within a team to uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture

What You'll Do

• Crosstrain on multiple machines
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

What You'll Need

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
• Able and willing to cross train as required
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervisionAble to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
