Job summary

Palm Harbor Homes in Oregon seeks an Assistant Production Manager to support multiple production teams in building homes and components. You will map processes, assure safety, manage staffing and training of supervisors and team members, and help meet production goals with strong attention to quality and efficiency.

This role requires hands-on leadership, collaboration with plant managers, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in production areas (construction, welder, electrician, etc.) or related fields.
• 2–4 years of manufacturing environment experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• College degree and manufacturing experience are required.
• Proven ability to support multiple teams to meet production goals.
• Ability to coach and develop production supervisors and team members.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe working environment and adherence to safety policies.
• Maintain open communication with plant operations and general manager about safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors on hiring, advancement, and staffing changes.
• Ensure work orders and instructions are followed for accurate assembly of components.
• Plan weekly production goals and forecast staffing and capacity.
• Coordinate attendance and staffing needs across production areas.
• Ensure maintenance and proper use of tools and machinery.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
