Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer for a major mining operation in Welkom, Free State. You will optimize efficiency, drive cost reductions, and ensure safety and environmental compliance across the mining value chain.

Lead a team of engineers, apply Lean/Six Sigma, and leverage MATLAB and Python for data analytics to deliver operational improvements and robust reporting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in industrial engineering with a mining focus.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or CI methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize the mining value chain from extraction to logistics.
• Develop engineering solutions to improve productivity and reduce cycle times.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for improvements.
• Lead and mentor engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Prepare reports and strategic recommendations.
