Job summary

Steelcase is seeking an Inventory and Materials Manager - Production Floor to command material flow and oversee inventory accuracy on the production floor. You will lead warehouse operations and ensure uninterrupted production through lean practices and robust control systems.

You will partner across Production, Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance to optimize scheduling and inventory performance, while developing a high-performing team and driving continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in Materials Management, Inventory or Manufacturing Operations.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with WM/IM and SAP ERP.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-floor inventory and material flow to support manufacturing operations.
• Maintain lean inventory levels and operational excellence.
• Develop supermarkets, Kanban and pull systems, FIFO controls, safety stock strategies.
• Proactively identify and resolve material shortages and supply risks.
• Oversee cycle counts, bin audits, inventory reconciliation, and material disposition processes.
• Partner with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance to support schedule attainment and inventory performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in material flow, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, warehouse efficiency, and working capital.
• Establish policies, procedures, standard work, and performance metrics for material management.
• Lead, coach, and develop inventory, warehouse, and material handling teams.
