Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Milford, UT seeks a Production Manager Trainee who will learn all aspects of farm department operations, from breeding/farrowing to nursery/finishing, under supervision, and work toward leadership certification. You will handle hourly tasks, study company systems, report on experiences, and contribute to continuous improvement while following environmental and animal welfare policies.

This role requires relocation for training and a strong team focus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related Agricultural field, or student graduating this term.
Must be able to work an average 48-hour week; may vary.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
Must be willing to relocate for training.
Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft software.
Ability to lead others.

Responsibilities

Learn and become certified in all farm department areas, including Breeding/Farrowing and Nursery/Finishing.
Understand pig production processes, animal flow, health, and welfare policies.
Perform hourly tasks under supervision and achieve certification.
Develop reports on experiences and suggest improvements.
Maintain compliance with environmental and EMS procedures.
Support leadership development and training progression.
