Job Description: Production Manager

Come grow with us: North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team. Founded in 1978, NASG is a privately held company at the forefront of automotive industry innovations, with manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. We are a leading Tier II supplier of automotive stampings and assemblies, serving markets including seating, ride control, exhaust, NVH, chassis, structural components, and window regulators.

Your success is our success: Our sales have grown at an 18% CAGR over the past eight years, tripling our business and establishing us as a major Tier II automotive supplier. The Production Manager will report to the Operations Manager and oversee all production activities within the division. Responsibilities include fostering innovative solutions, coaching team members, ensuring safety, driving cost reductions, managing inventory, and improving delivery performance. This role may have 3-4 direct reports.

Experience Requirements:
  • Leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement practices
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments
  • Excellent skills in Excel and Microsoft Word
Personal/Technical Skills:
  • Ensure safety, process capability, and standardization across facilities
  • Troubleshoot production equipment issues
  • Assist in training plant personnel
  • Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting
  • Participate in team initiatives and upgrade skills as needed
  • Enhance welding capabilities, including MIG welding
  • Maintain high standards of honesty, work ethic, and discipline
  • Work non-routine hours as required
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and standards
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and continuous improvement
  • Review downtime and implement improvements
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in manufacturing
Essential Job Functions:
  • Allocate manpower to meet production needs
  • Fill in for team leaders as needed
  • Report data for management reviews
  • Evaluate and review team goals
  • Manage performance reviews and coaching
  • Oversee operational metrics and reports
  • Assist with work order and tooling management
  • Ensure team adherence to policies and practices
  • Enter production data accurately and promptly
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Review production boards and implement improvements
  • Maintain team training and discipline
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met
  • Lead corrective actions and quality procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a supervisory role in a fast-paced stamping and welding environment
  • Required: High school diploma or GED
