Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking an experienced Production Manager for our on-site facility in Niles, Ohio. You will lead daily plant operations, coordinate labor, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency on the production floor.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with Quality/Maintenance/Inventory, and the development of teams to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments.
• Associate degree with emphasis on management or supervision (or equivalent experience).
• Working knowledge of shop floor systems such as MES and SAP or comparable platforms.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote safe work practices per regulatory and company policy.
• Perform quality checks on equipment and production areas to ensure standards are met.
• Develop work schedules and labor assignments to hit daily and long-term goals.
• Delegate responsibilities and ensure accountability across team members.
• Provide training and cross-training; conduct performance evaluations and discipline when needed.
• Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory.
• Generate and review daily operations reports to ensure shift continuity.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with Quality to uphold site-specific standards.
• Develop and implement plans to improve plant performance and efficiency.
• Document injuries and ensure corrective actions are followed up.
• Hire, coach, and evaluate team members and support growth.
• Perform other duties to support plant operations.
• Maintain regular, full-time, on-site attendance.
