Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems that convert raw materials into high-quality products. You will work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations at our Niles, OH plant.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial or related engineering field.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with MES, SAP and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and system improvements.
• Analyze operations to identify optimization, waste reduction and cost savings.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Optimize workflows and schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Collaborate to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Assist with installation, testing, and startup of new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost plant performance.
• Lead and promote safe work practices as required by regulations.
