Scope: Under the leadership and guidance of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all production operations and ensuring that efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The Production Manager leads a team of production supervisors, leads, and operators, developing and implementing production plans, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Manager will oversee daily production operations, leading efforts to enhance productivity, streamline resource utilization, and cultivate a culture of ongoing improvement throughout the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Oversees daily production activities to meet production targets and quality standards.
•Guides, mentors, and motivates production supervisors and leads to achieve performance goals and maintain a safe and positive work environment.
•Develops and implements production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
•Manages day-to-day production activities, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation, to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products.
•Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, quality control, and supply chain, to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
•Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzes production data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Implements action plans accordingly.
•Develops and implements training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of production leaders and staff.
•Drives a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the plant.
•Manages production goals including waste, labor, throughput, and ensures the appropriate maintenance of production equipment.
•Enforces safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Follows all OSHA safety rules.
•Proactively and routinely monitors employee performance, provides feedback, and implements disciplinary actions when necessary.
•Implements and enforces compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines, and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
•Actively participates in the recruiting process to support hiring needs for the department, as necessary.
•Performs all other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

•Ability to demonstrate excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•High school diploma or GED required.
•Bachelor's degree in operations management or a related field, preferred.
•Proven experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
•Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, desirable.
•Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
•Proficient with software packages such as JD Edwards, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, Email, Internet, and Power Point.
