Job summary

Floor Coverings International in Bloomfield Hills area is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily operations, manage installer relationships, and ensure customers are delighted from start to finish. This is a customer-focused, leadership-driven role requiring multitasking, planning, and strong industry knowledge.

The position offers a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, some weekends), competitive base salary with performance bonuses, and opportunities for advancement in a locally owned franchise

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in flooring installation and/or production management.
• Strong communication skills, both by phone and in person.
• Proficient in scheduling, planning, and workflow optimization.
• Tech-savvy (Salesforce, Excel, Outlook, or similar tools).
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Customer relationships: Build and nurture lasting relationships to boost satisfaction.
• Project communication: Keep customers and installers updated on timelines and needs.
• Team collaboration: Lead weekly meetings with sales staff to review projects.
• Installer recruitment & vetting: Source and evaluate installer talent.

• Warehouse & inventory management: Organize product storage and warehouse operations.
• On-site quality control: Visit job sites to verify workmanship meets standards.

• Documentation: Take before-and-after photos for accountability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in flooring installation and/or production management preferred
• Strong communication skills, both by phone and in person
• Established industry contacts a plus

Before starting this business, Matt spent twenty years in sales and marketing, and he made the leap into ownership because he wanted to build something he could grow alongside both his community and his family.

Outside of work, Matt is happiest outdoors - fishing, being out on a boat, or just soaking up time in nature. He's a big basketball and football fan, and he loves to cook, especially firing up the grill for some good barbecue.
