ABOUT THE ROLE

The production manager is responsible for leading, managing and holding accountable the production department. This is a critical leadership position reporting directly to our director of operations. The role oversees a team that includes three shift supervisors, a material handling lead and several process technicians. They’re looking for someone who not only brings strong industry experience in plastics injection molding but also has a track record of developing and inspiring early career leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage multiple positions within the operations department, including production supervisors and material handlers; responsible for training, managing performance, and developing employees
• Ensure the necessary quantity and quality of daily production output is met and production areas run effectively and efficiently
• Oversee, evaluate, and improving manufacturing methods, processes, equipment, layout, and workflow
• Partner with Maintenance on equipment installations, repairs, PMs and overall maintenance of the facility
• Partner with Quality on QIPs, SOPs, SOs, product requirements and acceptability, and resolving any RMAs
• Partner with sales, project manager, and tool room to determine job completion dates and new mold arrivals
• Partner with tool room on mold repair and modification, mold maintenance, tooling and fixtures, prototyping and special projects
• Partner with HR/Safety on safety plans, procedures, training and inspections
• Ensure production data is correctly reported in ERP system; frequently run reports to identify and correct any discrepancies; frequently analyze data to identify, troubleshoot and correct any production and inventory issues
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school degree or GED required; post-secondary degree preferred
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership, communication and teambuilding skills
• Strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP experience
