Job summary

Firman Solutions in Mobile, AL, is seeking aProduction Manager capable of overseeing the 100 and 200 unit lines, driving safe, efficient, and on-time production. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, HES, logistics and plant management to meet production and plant goals while leading a culture of continuous improvement and strong PSM practices.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge in chemical/mechanical processes, and hands-on ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical plant.
• Experience with hazardous chemical processes.
• Leadership or management experience, including leading teams without direct supervision.
• Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), including PHA and MOC.
• Experience with continuous improvement, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to work in a chemical plant, climb ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production and ensure orders meet demand and schedule.
• Manage labor utilization and minimize overtime.
• Provide safety leadership and ensure compliance with plant procedures.
• Lead training and development of operators and supervisors.
• Monitor KPIs, quality, yield, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and shutdown activities are completed on schedule.
• Manage raw material and finished goods inventory.
• Maintain accurate production records and inventory data in Oracle.
• Develop and update operating procedures and ensure ISO compliance.
• Support capital planning, process improvements, and root-cause investigations.
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues as needed, including off-hours support.
