The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations within a 24/7 chemical manufacturing environment. This role provides leadership across safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and cost control while managing production staff, schedules, and resources. The Production Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, fosters a high-performing workforce, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable manufacturing operations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Foster a strong culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
- Manage and develop a multi-shift production team, including supervisors, leads, and technical staff
- Oversee production scheduling, labor allocation, and resource utilization
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality, and other departments to ensure reliable operations
Qualifications and Education
- 5+ years of leadership experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
- 10+ years of personnel management experience in a production or plant setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong commitment to safety with working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards
- Experience interpreting P&IDs, technical drawings, and process documentation
- Solid understanding of chemical processing equipment and manufacturing systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or related discipline preferred)
