Unicity currently has facilities and offices throughout the US and many more globally! This position will be located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

We are looking for a Production Manager to help us continue to grow as we open a new production facility in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, which will manufacture powder health supplements. This position will provide an opportunity for professional growth with the ability to grow alongside the company. This role will require hands‑on operational oversight for all manufacturing and operating activities. As the Production Manager, you will be accountable for standards aligned to: manufacturing production, safety, quality and operational effectiveness.

Because this is a brand-new facility, we’re looking for someone who is genuinely excited by the challenge of building a team and a system from the ground up — not just managing an established operation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and oversee production staff and all day‑to‑day manufacturing activities.
  • Work directly with production staff, hands‑on, training staff on machinery usage and maintenance. Partner with other discipline managers to identify key training, critical experiences and developmental opportunities for individuals and teams.
  • Lead and ensure that all manufacturing production, shipping, and fulfillment activities are executed safely and in compliance with Unicity's Total Quality requirements and meet all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the execution of consistent and quality products — while driving reliability centered manufacturing operations. Communicate all potential issues with the quality department and implement recommended changes.
  • Learn the proper operation and adjustment techniques of all production machinery and train production staff on machinery usage. Develop and prepare SOPs and reports to improve efficiency output while reducing waste and other costs.
  • Lead and own strategic implementation results of operational efficiency programs. Champion a culture that: builds, operates and maintains a world class facility that is operationally sound, safe and efficient.
  • Develop plans, and deliver results, in a fast‑changing business and regulatory environment while leading, developing, and coaching a team. Make decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. Collaborate with corporate leadership to ensure that staff selections align with current and future business needs.
  • Work with Corporate Leadership developing and executing production schedules.
  • Identify infrastructure requirements necessary to achieve exceptional product quality level/operational excellence as well as to meet local regulations.
  • Build out the team, processes, and systems needed to stand up a brand-new manufacturing facility from the ground up.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of six years of manufacturing experience.
  • Able to work with, inspire and create consensus with a group to cooperatively achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership of RCI for significant unplanned events.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Motivated by the opportunity to build a team and operational systems from scratch in a brand-new facility, rather than stepping into an already established one.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of supervisory experience.
  • Mechanically inclined. Good understanding of process flows and process development.
  • Nutraceutical and/or dry bulk material manufacturing experience — powder supplement manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with GMPs guidelines.
  • Operations and budget planning experience.
  • Operational excellence knowledge: TPM, Six Sigma, 5S.
  • Prior experience launching or standing up a new manufacturing site.
