Work Performed |
Planning and Communication
- Contributes to the season programing process for each season of productions in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center.
- Provides coordination between college departments and offices for the purpose of facilitating productions, fostering positive and effective communication between cross-functional areas.
- Evaluates production requirements of season schedules and timelines; develops production plans, prioritizes, and schedules accordingly.
- Creates and maintains production calendars.
- Coordinates meetings between design teams, directors, and artistic staff.
- Schedules and facilitates production meetings. Produces and distributes production meeting notes.
- Collaborates with faculty, providing coordination, mentorship, and supervision for students involved in productions.
Production
- Possesses an awareness of and commitment to the artistic vision of each production while maintaining an awareness of financially-related items. Effectively communicates requirements in an effort to facilitate production-related decision making.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to select, interview, and hire design staff and stage management.
- Oversees theatre program and dance program events from conceptual production meetings to closing.
- Acts as liaison between Horowitz Center technical support staff and artistic teams of external productions.
- Reviews all rehearsal and performance reports and ensures that notes are addressed in a timely manner by appropriate staff.
- Schedules and coordinates build, load-in, paint, rehearsal, light hang and focus, sound load, tech, and strike for each production in collaboration with Technical Director, Associate Technical Director, Technical Coordinator, and Production Electrician.
- Ensures design deadlines are implemented throughout the production process.
Administrative and Financial
- Issues offers to cast and creative team members.
- Creates and maintains production budgets in collaboration with production unit leadership.
- Approves and authorizes production expenses made by guest artists and craftspeople.
- Maintains production files, including show books, contracts, agreements, schedules, and design drawings.
Space and Inventory Management
- Manages props and wardrobe collections.
- Supervises maintenance and inventory of stock stored in various areas (furniture, props, wardrobe, accessories, make-up, wigs, and equipment such as steamers, hair driers, etc.)
- Hires and supervises wardrobe personnel for dry cleaning, laundry, steaming per production.
- Evaluates and communicates needs to management regarding inventory, replacements, repair, etc.
- Coordinates and schedules inventory tours.
- Oversees all lending activity with on/off campus entities/organizations - copying management/HVPA entities prior to committing. Documents and communicates pick-up/return deadlines.
- Evaluates backstage areas after production closings/strikes.
- Responsible for greenroom and dressing room maintenance.
Supervision
- Interviews, hires, and supervises temporary hourly personnel.
- Supervises Stage Management to ensure artistic and technical integrity is maintained throughout the run of the production.
- Oversees the work done by designers, guest artists, and other contracted vendors during all phases of the production process.
- Other duties as assigned.

Other Knowledge Required |
- B.A. Degree in arts related field or minimum of five years of project management experience in related arts field.
- Production Management experience within higher education preferred.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and experience with internet and computer software applications-i.e.
e-mail, calendar, word processing, spreadsheet, database, etc.
- Budget development and budget management experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to work effectively within a diverse artistic population.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.
