Job Summary: Normal 3rd shift hours are 8 PM - 4 AM. Any daily overtime would change it to a 6 PM start time for 10-hour days and a 4 PM start time for 12-hour days.
Manages all hourly third shift Production and Maintenance employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Coordinates the manufacturing schedule and production activities for the 3rd shift to achieve budgeted productivity, shipping, and fill rate goals.
Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in manufacturing technology and line operation experience. Practical experience in supervision, quality, and product reliability. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
This position requires the ability to read, comprehend, and write reports, use logic and data to solve problems, and communicate effectively. Physically, it requires mobility in an office and industrial environment, ability to finger and grasp materials, speak effectively, and listen attentively.
