Job description

Johnson Service Group, Inc. has an opportunity for a Production Maintenance Mechanic near Danbury, CT. In this role, you will perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on production line manufacturing equipment. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. Under supervision, may redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment. May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.

Night Shift: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6pm to 6:30am, and every other Wednesday. One week is a 3-day work week and the next is 4 days. The 4-day work week can earn 8 hours of OT.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Works on problems that are semi-routine in nature and analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
2. Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment.
3. Reads and understands technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot issues or make repairs.
4. Performs work in one or more machine trades including electrical, mechanical, or machining.
5. Performs routine equipment maintenance and repair.
6. Assist in installation of new equipment.
7. Inspection of manufacturing equipment operations on a routine basis.
8. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
9. Enters and maintains data in a computerized system.
10. Assists Facilities Maintenance Department with general building maintenance functions.
11. Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.

Other duties may be assigned. Multiple shifts being hired.

Required Skills & Experience:

• High School/GED with 3-5 years related experience or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical training desired.
• 3 to 5 years related maintenance experience.
• Organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of cGMP procedures.
• Familiar with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledgeable in calibration and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Skilled in using computer database programs.
• Comfortable wearing a Portable Respirator for long durations.
