Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage daily work orders and production personnel on site. The role requires coordinating staffing, training, and operations to meet daily line goals in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

You will work with Engineers and the Production Manager to resolve constraints, monitor line status, and ensure safety compliance while developing operators and maintaining training records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively in a repetitive manufacturing environment and maintain the manual dexterity required for production-related tasks.
• Basic computer and data-entry proficiency required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use, or learn to use, microscopes, basic electrical instruments, hand tools, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily work orders and prioritize production tasks to meet targets.
• Perform daily staffing and attendance checks and coordinate coverage across shifts.
• Elevate operational issues (staffing, equipment, process) to management.
• Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and management to resolve production constraints.
• Assign personnel to workstations based on priorities and availability.
• Monitor production goals and communicate status during shift handoffs.
• Coach and mentor operators and support training of new employees.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, ESD requirements, cleanroom procedures, and safety policies.
• Review and approve timecards in line with company procedures.
