Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage daily work orders and production personnel to meet line goals. You will oversee staffing, coordinate cross-shift coverage, and coach operators for performance and training completion.

Responsibilities include enforcing SOPs/ESD, reviewing targets, and ensuring accurate timekeeping while maintaining safety in a manufacturing environment. Relocation within the United States is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Able to work effectively in a repetitive manufacturing environment and maintain manual dexterity for production tasks.
• Basic computer and data-entry proficiency including MS Excel.
• Ability to use microscopes, basic electrical instruments, hand tools, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Staff daily staffing and attendance checks to identify present/absent employees and assess impact on production.
• Coordinate staffing coverage, including cross-shift support from other shifts when needed.
• Escalate staffing, equipment, process, or other issues affecting output or schedule to management.
• Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and management to resolve production constraints.
• Assign personnel to workstations based on priorities and needs.
• Review production goals and coordinate resources to meet targets.
• Monitor line status, output, yield, and issues during shift handoffs.
• Oversee operator schedules and ensure adequate line coverage.
• Manage and prioritize daily work orders for timely completion.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for operators; support new-operator training.
