Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is seeking a production supervisor to manage daily work orders and oversee production personnel to achieve line goals.

This full-time, on-site role is based in Sugar Land, Texas, and requires strong organization, leadership, and adherence to SOPs. You will staff shifts, monitor attendance, resolve bottlenecks with engineers and technicians, coach operators, and ensure training records are kept up to date.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Basic computer and data-entry proficiency, including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use or learn microscopes, basic electrical instruments, hand tools, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily staffing and attendance to ensure production requirements are met.
• Identify staffing shortages and coordinate coverage across shifts.
• Elevate operational issues to management to protect output and schedule attainment.
• Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and management to resolve production constraints.
• Assign personnel to workstations based on priorities and availability.
• Review production goals and coordinate resources to meet targets.
• Monitor line status, output, and issues during shift handoffs.
• Coach operators and support the training of new employees.
• Review and approve timecards in accordance with procedures.
• Support additional duties to sustain production operations.
