Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate to visually inspect extruded products, conduct quality tests, and assist with packaging in a manufacturing environment in the United States. The role involves following strict size and appearance specs, coordinating with shifts, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

The position offers day and night shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, weekend rotations as needed, and benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Must read, write, and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect extruded product for appearance and size defects according to specifications.
• Conduct recurrent tests/inspections of products’ functional features (including, but not limited to, nail slot depth, weep holes, butt end channel locks, etc)
• Notify appropriate personnel of product defects
• Assemble cartons for packaging
• Ensure proper packing patterns, product counts, and package enclosures
• Square, glue, seal, and label packed cartons
• Transfer carton to finished product skid
• Discard unacceptable panels in Scrap Rack
• Identify product jam on production line and assist as necessary
• Identify line going down and assist as necessary
• Assist with color and product fixture changes
• Perform line shutdown tasks
• Communicate with shifts about product quality and status
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed
• Complete line packaging paperwork accurately
• Notify operators of colored light alarm from Ink Jet Printer
• Punch time clock before/after shift
• Observe health and safety practices when handling bacon strips
• Perform other related duties as required
• Maintain supplies at workstation
• Communicate with Material Handler(s) to move full warehouse racks
• Assist with training of temporaries and new hires
• Float to relieve other associates for breaks
• Attend weekly shift meetings and All Hands Forum
• Participate in plant safety programs
• Notify Supervisor if proper tools are not furnished
• Assist with production equipment maintenance
