Job summary

Smithfield is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead frontline operations in a fast-paced plant in North Carolina. You will supervise production employees, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure daily targets are met with high efficiency.

You will train and coach staff, analyze yields and variances, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a strong safety culture. Occasional long hours and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff or managing a process or project.
• Strong oral and written communication while solving complex process issues with analytical and math abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% and to work long hours/weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Compliance: perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, and ensure HACCP/USDA adherence.
• Product Quality and Training: enforce food safety/quality plans, train on SOPs including lock-out/tag-out.
• Operational Efficiency: track yields/variances, collaborate to improve workflows and reduce downtime.
• Team Leadership and Communication: guide hourly employees, lead monthly line meetings, walk the floor daily.
• Continuous Improvement: analyze KPIs, identify improvements to boost efficiency and cut costs.
