The Production Leader/Hourly Supervisor/Mechanic will supervise, lead and coordinate the activities of the production department or function to achieve company goals. Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during production season, which willrequire working 2nd shift during the production seasonand weekends. 2nd shift hours are 5P-5A and go from late July through mid-November.
Complete daily production requirements in a cost-effective manner which meet or exceed all Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practice and Employee Safety expectations. Adequately train and instruct others within the assigned department.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise all processes to produce products that meet specifications.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees.
  • Meet production costs that are equal to or less than standard.
  • Encourage and promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Train all employees to complete their job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Make decisions regarding product quality, employee relations and equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in developing plant budgets and daily production plans.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Trouble shoot, repair and replace machinery as required.
  • Read sketches and blueprints to determine layout of assigned work.
  • Design, fabricate, weld and install equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed.
  • Monitor equipment operation making any necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure that GMPs (good manufacturing practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Certified or able to become certified in Better Process Control School, Thermal Processing and Container Closure.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during production season, which willrequire working 2nd shift during the production seasonand weekends. 2nd shift hours are 5P-5A and go from late July through mid-November.
  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong maintenance skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $25 to $30 per hour.
