Job summary

Afinitas, part of Barry-Wehmiller, is seeking a Production Lead for the 2nd shift in New Hampton, IA. This role supports a four‑day work week and includes benefits from day one in a safety‑focused plant environment.

You will read blueprints, set up MIG/TIG/flux core welding, perform related fabrication tasks, and collaborate with teams to resolve cost and production issues while documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Interpret moderately complex blueprints, route sheets, specifications.
• Advanced MIG, TIG, and flux core welding skills.
• Experience with machined part fabrication.
• Ability to read measuring instruments and verify tolerances.
• Strong safety and quality mindset.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and instructions to determine welding methods.
• Set up and operate MIG/TIG/flux core welding equipment; adjust settings.
• Perform saw operations and painting as required.
• Measure dimensions using micrometers and calipers; inspect finished units.
• Identify defects and report with detailed documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and participate in team meetings.
